— About & History

Gods & rainbow has been online since March 3rd 2007. I really enjoy making graphics, especially icons. A full graphic site is way too big for me to tackle. Instead, I decided to focus on icon designing. To make this experience even more pleasant, I invited some of my friends to join the site. Lucky for me, they've accepted. So Jade and Tiffany were to contribute to this site with their beautiful graphics. However, due to some problems and lack of contact, their works are no longer featured here. Afterwards, my very close friend, Martine asked if she could join as well. How could I refuse? We're still learning and we'll be working hard to provide quality icons that showcase originalty & creativity.

The layout you are viewing is version 2.1, entitled The best armor is to keep out of range. It comes from an Italian proverb, I chose it more as a pun, rather then for its meaning. The design features the Vongola famiglia (minus my precious little Lambo and Reborn) of Katekyo Hitman Reborn!. The layout (a divided layer) was made and coded by me using PaintShop Pro 9 and Notepad. The image was taken from Minitokyo. Cleaning the color spread (from chap. 179) took longer than I expected. I had to redraw Gokudera's white sleeve with my mouse on Open Canvas. As usual, I went for a simple style. It's all about playing with the lines. I went with a colder color palette (because, winter in Quebec was and still is a real pain ~~in the arse~~). It's not as dramatic as my last layout, but there's this air of sophistication :) I tried something different with the navigation, I'm please with how it turned out.

Behind the Name

At first glance,the title might sound quite weird and random... or maybe, even deep for some of you. Well, it does hold a special (lack of a better word) meaning to me.

Bishonens = gods, Gackt = god like, Kubo Tite is god
rainbow is the english translation for Jrock band; l'Arc~en~Ciel

I believe there's no further explanation needed.
